Dr Romo and his team are second to none. Myself and my animals have always been respected and deeply cared for. To feel genuine empathy, to share knowledge and carefully explain things and to just flat out enjoy what they do, are just a few incredible aspects of the team. I could go on and on about how great they are. I have never had a negative experience here. I am so happy we have them to help guide us through our animal journeys!!!

The best exotic vet. My pinnacle conure had a complicated injury on her leg. I took her to a vet that supposedly treats all kinds of animals. I called beforehand to confirm they could see my bird based on her condition. However, I was advised to euthanize her because the vet said this was outside their specialty. Then, many people and a rescue organization recommended the bird exotic hospital in Greenacres. The bird exotic vet was able to schedule an appointment right away, and surgery was booked for the following week. The staff members were amazing. Dr. Romo performed the surgery that the previous vet could not due to its complexity. Dr. Jena explained everything well and genuinely cared about my bird. This is the best avian vet you can find in South Florida. Highly recommended!!

I would like to say that my 2 Blue and Gold Macaws came from Colorado to see Dr Romo and we were very pleased with his exceptional and thorough care of all their needs. The doctor took a lot of time to talk to me about their specific needs and what I could do to help improve their quality of life. The interest shown and loving nature toward them was warmly noted and all the good information regarding foraging to reduce plucking habits was new information. Thank you to the doctor and staff. I will be bringing them across the country on my travels every year to see Dr. Romo.

My experience with the care that the staff have at this business blew my mind. Dr. Romo & his staff were extremely patient and communicative during this entire process. My bird had an incident in which I came home and his toe was injured. They had an emergency slot available or a next day appt since the previous appt cancelled. I was able to get in the next day at the regular checkup price along with additional fees for Papito’s medication. They handled my pet with such great care and love and I felt respected during the whole exam. While Dr. Romo communicated with his assistant, he also communicated with me throughout the entire process. He explained everything he was doing and my pet’s course of treatment. He gave me some options and let me take my time deciding what I wanted to do. As someone who loves their pet so dearly, I didn’t feel pressured or rushed to make a decision. They educated me more about my pet in a respectful manner and guided me through the process. The staff member at the front desk was extremely lovely and helpful even though I was frantic over the phone in regards to my pet. I’m extremely overjoyed with the appointment and I feel more comfortable about my pet’s course of action for the next couple of days before we see Dr. Romo again. The facility was extremely clean and beautiful. Thank you guys for the wonderful visit and Papito can’t wait to see you all again.
